After a flurry of requests for a sweet red, one has finally arrived!
Barefoot is usually a pretty safe bet when it comes to wine, and relatively cheap at 5-7 dollars a bottle. So instead of going for another 2 dollar bottle of blush wine, I’ve splurged for a lovely sweet red from Barefoot.
Oh, and it’s worth it. From the very first sip, this wine is bliss. Smooth, sweet (but not sugary), and still qualifies as a red wine (not rose, or blush).
Pairs well with spicy things, red meats, grilled foods, it holds hints of bold cherry, tart raspberry and deep, sweet pomegranate within its burgundy depths.
At 10.5% alcohol content, it’s enough to get your date drunk enough to think you’re attractive, but not enough to really taste it.
And trust me, you’ll be happy to have alcohol on your side if the night doesn’t go well with said significant other.
As far as price goes, this isn’t exactly a wine I can afford every day while still feeding myself and buying textbooks, but as far as taste goes, it’s well worth the five bucks I paid.
I give this wine a 4.3 out of 5,
.3 more than the gallo family blush noir, simply for the sake of quality and a classier label.
With this one, you just can’t go wrong.
Stay tuned for another red! We’re going darker with the next one, no more of this “sweet” kid stuff.
UPDATE:
so, i’m up to 170 followers, and here’s the result of tonights wine. It was so great, it inspired me to decapitate someone. See that fierce look on my face? Yeah, thats my bottled up excitement.
